Amish Friendship Bread

So in my attempt to be like my foodie friends who take amazing photos of their culinary creations, here is my latest. We were given a starter of an Amish Friendship bread mix. I remember hearing about it many times but didn't have the patience or the ingredients or enough pans to actually make it.  The entire process takes 10 days and this was our second round of making it.  We ate the first loaf and gave away the other two.  This time we kept the entire (larger) loaf for ourselves. Yum!

You know how when you're getting it ready, you have to mess around with the stuff when it's in the bag, etc? Well, I had a batch, and had to be gone for a day. Thought it would be ok. When I came back, it had basically exploded all over the counter in my kitchen. So, that's as far as I got with the friendship bread. :( But, it smelled like it was going to be wonderful!

We've forgotten to "do" something with ours and so it usually takes 10 days and I think we finally baked it (and it turned out great still) but it was in a gallon size bag, so no explosions. A friend had her's in a sandwich sized ziploc and "boom". Oops!
