Walter Cronkite

I am sad at the passing of this legend of journalism. Although I was not a arduous fan, I did admire the quality of reporting that he brought to the American public. I found this blog post to be a great tribute. I also am proud to be a Sun Devil as Arizona State University has the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism at its Downtown campus. It's great to see the way they are honoring his legacy. Below is a clip of Cronkite announcing JFK's death. There is some footage included that I had not seen before.

Obama at ASU

Last night President Obama spoke at my alma mater's 2009 graduation ceremony. What an incredible day! I wish I could have attended. My parents and sister and many friends had the opportunity to hear him speak.

Obama + ASU = Awesomeness

If you missed it, here's his speech.

And kudos to him recognizing the ASU men's basketball team and Kurt Warner!

And kudos to Obama for not caring about the honorary degree.

ASU Commencement 2009

Ok so how cool is it that Obama will be the commencement speaker at this year's ceremonies at ASU! Dang, I'll even be back in AZ but will miss his visit by 3 days.

Check it out!

ASU Sports!

Hats off to Arizona State for it's Men's Basketball, Women's Basketball and Women's Gymnastics! Good luck to the basketball teams as they make their way to the big dance. And good luck to the gymnastics team as they aim for the Pac-10 championship title.

ASU Baseball

And... the ASU Sun Devils baseball team is playing Fresno State this weekend in the Super Regionals. Wouldn't it be cool if ASU swept this series too???

a wonderful moment in sports

This week has been a great one for Julie & I, at least in the world of sports and the teams we follow. Julie's beloved alma mater, Arizona State University, won the National Championship in the College Softball World Series! This is the 1st time they've won that trophy in their history. The men's baseball team at ASU is playing for their respective championship title tomorrow. Go Sun Devils! And, as I'm sure some of you witnessed, the Detroit Red Wings won the Stanley Cup last night when they defeated the Pittsburgh Penguins 3-2. This was the 4th time in 11 seasons they've accomplished this. In the words of Bill & Ted, "Most triumphant!"
